found my new go-to sushi spot in SJ !! you know this place is good when they don't take reservations.. and there's already a line outside the door right when they open!! the fish was super fresh and i loved the generous amount of fish in the rolls, but what really impressed us was the little details: the depth in the miso soup broth, which contained carrots and fish bone, and the use of green tea powder in the tea instead of a tea pack :-) what we ordered: - sushi lunch - sashimi lunch - spicy tuna roll - lunch combo w/ salmon teriyaki and sashimi - hot green tea

Awesome restaurant. I came here today just before end of lunch at 130 .I ordered a bento box with two items. My two choices were Salmon teriyaki and pork gyoza. It came with salad ,rice and miso soup.Plus I order a diet coke. Everything g was tasty . The service was awesome.Place was clean. The Restaurant has a lot of parking as its inside a shopping center

Food is not the best but decent. Menu prices are affordable. Interiors are kind of outdated which was okay. But our server was not attentive and friendly at all.

Craving sushi? If you're looking for a hidden gem serving authentic and fresh Japanese food, then you need to check this place out! My husband and I were craving sushi and we decided on coming here. The decor is simple and homey inside. We have been here before and we loved that the fish is so fresh and buttery, just like in Japan. The fried tako was perfectly fried and the dipping sauce was yummy. I really enjoyed my chirashi bowl and appreciated how there were so many variety of fish! My husband loved his nigiri as well and I found myself stealing some of his food hehe. What we ordered: -Fried tako -Extra special chirashi bowl -Extra special nigiri sushi Follow @sophie_eats_world on Instagram for more food adventures!

Had really great sushi. Ordered the omakase with 5 appetizers ($100) and the extra special nigiri ($30 something) and 3 adults and a child were stuffed. The omakase and extra special nigiri came with really high quality fish including toro, uni, sweet shrimp... all the fancy stuff. The appetizers were pretty special too including braised salmon, fried snapper, and baby octopus. It was a bit of a splurge but was definitely worth it. Will be back again soon hopefully!

Review for take out. Located in a plaza that has a lot of parking but is super crowded. Called in at opening and it was super fast, 20 min for around 4 orders on a weekend. Inside is still super tight seating so long wait ( 30 min turnover). Got the sashimi lunch which was around 22.50 and came with 3pc white tuna, yellowtail, and salmon. 2 pc tuna. What I assume to be the white tuna was super creamy, the tuna was not metal tasting. They packaged everything and gave us their special salmon miso soup, salad, and rice (usually on weekday not included). The sushi rice is of good quality and not overly seasoned. We picked up, paid, and they gave us an update of how many sets are left to make without us asking which was quite nice and got out! Overall, with rising costs I see why this place is a hidden gem with their fish quality. Dining in can feel a bit rushed/long wait time but their takeout experience was seamless as long as you are willing to call in. (Sorry forgot to take pictures this round )

Tomi Sushi is SUCH a wonderful gem!! My dad comes here frequently and so I had to give it a try. So glad! I've been for both lunch and dinner. Always busy regardless of the time, and understandably so. But well worth the wait (if you do wait, which I haven't really yet). I most recently went for dinner and had the special sashimi, which was 9 pieces of very excellent sashimi, including tuna, salmon, yellowtail, white fish, and toro. SO delicious! I'm quite skeptical of most sushi places nowadays as the fish quality is often questionable, but Tomi is Delicious and reliable. The sushi is fresh, melts in your mouth, and is just So well done!! All the pieces were amazing. My dad had a Spanish mackerel special which was also Incredible!!! The entire fish is served to you as sashimi at first, and then they take the boned portion and fry it... INCREDIBLE. I'm not sure which aspect I loved more, the raw part of the fried part. I'd recommend a side of rice for the fried portion to balance the flavors, which were so so delicious. I also had a sushi roll with seared salmon and scallops, and you choose the inside... I had spicy tuna. SO good. The seared flavor was really wonderful and carried its weight in a profound way. It comes with a sauce that I personally choose to eat the sushi without, and as such didn't dip it in, though the sauce is good if you fancy that flavor profile. I also had green tea which is a good price and free refills. So warming and fulfilling. The overall ambiance of the restaurant is nice. It isn't loud, and the clientele are respectful it feels. As are the staff... they are just phenomenal! They work all day and are SO good at what they do. It is a busy place but never "feels" so. Like you never feel like you're being ignored or struggling for attention. You're always well taken care of. Shoutout to Maki for being an incredible part of the staff! So friendly and helpful. Another aspect of the restaurant that I love is that they have a dedicated accessible table. A wheelchair can roll right up with ease, and in my experience thus far, it's been held open until an accessible party arrives. Not sure if this was purely coincidence or not, but I think it's really admirable. Truly a highlight and sign of class in a restaurant. Overall LOVE Tomi. Perhaps my favorite sushi place in the SJ area and I am so glad I found it. It does not disappoint! Definitely recommend.

We were in the area and dropped in for dinner without a reservation on a Saturday night. We were lucky to be seated right away at the bar. Overall, the service was excellent, environment was kind of crowded and what we ordered was okay. Food: Dragon roll: 5/5 tasted fresh and delicious! Unagi don (eel over rice): 4/5 it was heavily marinated in the sauce and sweet. The unagi was really good but just covered with too much sauce. Chicken teriyaki: 3/5 my boyfriend ordered this one and the presentation was okay and the chicken quality was not great. Both were served with miso soup and a light salad which were nice appetizers. Tomi sushi is definitely known for their sushi and there was so much to pick from! We ended up picking safe options but I think next time we will try other menu items.

Excellent, authentic spot for sushi. I just wanted some tuna with SUSHI rice, not plain steamed rice, and Tomi Sushi has it. We sat at the sushi bar and I ordered a Tekka Don. 5 stars
